Since 2017, the international cooperation event titled the World Smart City Week in which the nations from all over the world gather together to seek directions for mutual development has been held and it has been established as the largest international Smart City event in the Asia-Pacific region.
In particular, over the last two years, Smart City has changed its status as a driving force of Korea's economic growth. Now, it is important to strengthen Korea’s global competitiveness through more tangible performances and promotion of the value and for the citizens to have specific experiences.
As the government announced the road map for Smart City policies, including national pilot cities, this year, in order to actively promote it, the event will be newly launched with the new title of ‘World Smart City Expo’. It will be a large-scale international event with a variety of stakeholders such as overseas cities, global corporations, international organizations, scholars, etc.
